Massively overpowered PvE skills. I don't have any problem with the idea, I think it's good so PvP and PvE skill balancing doesn't affect eachother too hard, until they turn PvE into complete cheese.
Izzy doing skill balances. Someone competent would be nice.
Grind based titles.
Hero Battles in its current form.
Shadowstepping (assassins are fine otherwise).
Spirit crapping (ritualists are fine otherwise).
Releasing massively overpowered skills in expansions and band-aid fixing the gashing wounds in subsequent updates.

I don't want to see Heroes.. maybe some quests in which you can have a Hero type person help you complete it... but i don't want a persitant world with heroes running all over the place. That'd looked really lame after awhile.
I like titles though agree having it have an in game benifit would need to go unless they turn them into the "life skills" type thing that they mentioned awhile back.
AH of course...
And it better be more persistant... That would give it a more lasting appeal. Right now I've played it to death... i am surprised someone people were complaing that it was non instance zones... after all those people complaing alrealdy have guild wars.

Except for me...
Right, guys?
Guys?
What I wouldn't like to see? Scammers like Warrior T O.
And blonde female monks with black armour and chaos gloves.

Holy smokes!
Almost 170 posts and NOBODY brought up the worst thing about GW?
You should be ashamed!
The Protective Spirit mechanic NEEDS to die.
There should be NO skill WHATSOEVER that works that way. That destroyed PvE and I don't want it back.
And of course - titles having an effect on gameplay. Bring it back to the innocent phase when titles were just something that enabled us to further customize our characters.

no linking friends list/block list. two seperate lists please.
no loot scaling.
no title required plot advancement
no elitist items used as cash (ectos, braces)
no useless mini pets (minatures should do something)
no elitists, no noobs, no scammers, no bots, no spammers.
better report system that works.
no customized armor. ( i wanna be able to use my single set of elite armor for all my characters) maybe class specific at most but not customized, so if i remake my character under the same class i can atleast keep my items.
no low sell value items to venders. make it easier to make money without needing to trade to greedy players. or sell 50,000 pieces of crap drops to make a platinum piece.
no henchmen. add more hero like npcs. improove AI, controllability and have a skill system that allows players to choose which skills gain priority. (so npcs will use them. Also combination systems would be nice. Echo followed by X.
do not force people to play with people.
private instances. Allow players to send others an invite, if this invite is accepted, when they leave town and enter the zone, they will enter YOUR zone and will be able to play together without returning to town.
Non boss monsters with higher levels in large mobs. seriously bugs me that monsters can get 8 levels higher in very large mobs with better tactics than heroes and henchies could ever get.
Anti npc areas. All quests and missions should allow for a full party of npcs. Elites blow because i cant play my heroes and henchies in them. and i dont wanna deal with peoples bs.
I am sure i could think of more but i dont wanna make this too long. i highly doubt i will get gw2 because i do not like gw1 much anymore and mmo's just seem to not be my thing. too much work, too little reward.
i would like gw2 to be more casual gamer friendly. Instead of Time>Skill, Or Skill>Time, How about Fun>Skill>Time.

I posted before, but after giving it some more reflection :
No Storyline.
The storyline in GW1 was allready weak, and it got worse from chapter to chapter.
I would seriously consider dropping it alltogether and just give us a world to play in.
That would also give me less time to consider "Hey I finished it, now what ?"

So, basically, no other players?
That kinda sums up 95% of the things posters say they dont want in GW 2.

What's in GW1 I DON'T want to see in GW2 ::
1. No character development after hitting max level and getting max gear (uber easy) - I want exactly the opposite - Infinite character development at a flat power level curve, so even after years of playing there's still something to improve but new players don't get disadvantaged. So no max level. Max = insta boring.
2. Terrible trading solution - No trading solution - a massive improvement needs to be done
3. Instanced explorable areas - good to have them gone
4. The remaining instanced zones (like dungeons) being always exactly the same - Randomization and unpredictability = much greater replayablility
5. Repeats and reskins being called (and charged for as) unique and new content.
6. Invisible walls and 2D environment with all the stupidity of stepping into a trap put below it while walking above, and no possibility of jumping down that bridge.
7. Item system designed for balanced PvP being extremelly dull in PvE:
-supereasily obtainable Max/perfect items - you can't hope for getting something better when you got max,
-very small variety of items (ie. two-handed swords, polearms, dual-weilding, jewellery like rings, bracelets, necklaces etc. would be cool)
-small number and variety of mods (like +15^50 good, other options just worse)
-fully moddable items (yuk) which removed all the fun of hunting for cool rare stuff - nothing and rare cool about something which can be easily replicated
Instead I'd absolutely love an item system which is:
-friendly and rewarding for all kinds of players, casual and hardcore, collectors and min/max'ers - it should not be an gear-based game with forced grind to get more and more power but a fun experience of getting cool stuff and improving your character.
-no such thing as max stats but a flat power level curve instead so you can always hope for finding something better, even a tiny tiny bit better;
-no clearly visible tiers of gear so no forced grind and discrimination happens,
-greens being the reasonably obtainable but not mass farmable, fixed stats items with unique-epic feeling to them, rewarding, good, but not the absolutely best possible.
-gold items having multiple inherent mods so you rarely see something like a 'strictly better' item or an exact copy of an item. Moddability should only help adjust the item to work with certain builds or playstyles. Possibility of building a perfect item from cheap components ruins all the fun.

You are right, that should have been brought up much earlier. But I am afraid they take the easy way to balance the game once again.

They won't be disadvantaged at all, due to the sidekick system. More reason for the infinite (please?) and flattened power curve.

Pretty much everything Yawgmoth said in post #171.
To it I'll add:
No heroes. No ridiculous PvE skills such as Ursan.

Do not want:- Small storage
- Low level caps (Nothing under 50)
- Limited 8 skills only skillbars (where signets like Cap Sig, Res Sigs, etc count as a slot). You never hear of any limits in any books, "Oh wait I didn't bring my Cure Poison spell so we leave Darkanos behind."
- Limited Guild management (more ranks and customizations)
- Favor system (nothing should be controlled)
- "Owned" towns/outposts
- Limited "max damage" weapons/shields/offhands that anyone can easily farm and get. You get about 50 billion max damage weapons and nothing that is truly rare or hard to get. Much like a drop that only happens once a month or so for example but has better stats than anything you normally get. GW1 example: You can get a max damage sword (11-22) anywhere with ease. Imagine getting a sword that is extremely rare and does 33-66 damage. More variety!
- PvP using skills that cause nerfs that make PvE suffer
- Limited minions if minion masters exist.
- Degen on vamp/zealous. Every game I ever played a vamp weapon would heal you for the full amount of damage you did to your enemy or half the amount. (Hit someone for 200, get healed for 200, or in the half case you get healed for 100)
